We are a non-profit academic organization that promotes Software Engineering in the field of Computer Science; and we aim to bridge the gap between the academe and the industry — as orchestrated by our core values of Professionalism, Leadership, and Excellence.
The Young Software Engineers' Society was established on June 20, 2005 by students under the guidance of then Assistant Professor Ria Corda in the CMSC 128: Introduction to Software Engineering course. The inspiration for the organization originated from the Young Software Engineers' Exhibit and Practicum Fair held for the said course in February 2005.
The organization aims to promote academic excellence and Software Engineering to its stakeholders. We develop our members' interpersonal, intrapersonal, and leadership skills. We also encourage students to become good software engineers with proper work ethics, aware of the social responsibilities in the field, that will contribute to the development of the nation.
Young Software Engineers' Society seeks to bridge the gap between the academe and the industry, becoming a nationally acknowledged organization for promoting Software Engineering throughout the country and for producing top students that will become professional software engineers, team leaders, and Chief Executive Officers (CEO).
YSES Online (yses.org) was first established in 2019 by YSES residents Ralph Lawrence Silaya, David Ralph Benavidez, and Lorenz Matthew Afable. The website aims to introduce the Young Software Engineers' Society to a wider audience, showcasing the events and achievements of its members.
As of 2024, a revamp of the site was spearheaded by Ma. Alexandra Siocon and Kyle Nathaniel Vinuya along with a team of 10+ developers.
As of 2026, YSES Online v2 was spearheaded by Arvin Ferrer and Lance Perus along with a team of 8 developers.

The Young Software Engineers' Society, now in its 21st year of existence, continues to strive to reach its goal of promoting Software Engineering in the field of Computer Science and bridging the gap between the academe and the industry, aligned with our core values.
